Thursday, April 22, 2021
6:00 PM (central time)
The Harvard Clubs of the Great Lakes are excited to welcome Harvard professor and Michigan native, Alexandra (Sasha) Killewald to speak to our members. Professor Killewald is a Professor of Sociology and the current chair of Harvard's Ph.D. Program in Social Policy. She uses quantitative methods to study inequality in the contemporary United States. In one line of research, Killewald investigates the gendered intersection of work and family, including how marriage and parenthood shape wages. In a second, she analyzes how wealth inequality persists across generations and the role of intergenerational processes in the racial wealth gap. Her remarks to our Clubs will focus on how parenthood affects men’s and women’s paid and unpaid work lives.
