Voter Participation in Perilous Times
An interactive discussion with Harvard Professor of Human Rights Policy Dr. Kathryn Sikkink
Prof. Sikkink works on international norms and institutions, transnational advocacy networks, and the impact of human rights law and policies.
In her latest book "The Hidden Face of Rights: Toward a Politics of Responsibility" (Yale 2020), she argues that we cannot truly implement human rights unless we also recognize human responsibilities, giving examples from diverse issues like climate change, voting, digital privacy, and campus sexual assault.
Topics for discussion include:
- Voting responsibilities as a corollary to voting rights
- How to mobilize individuals about their responsibility to vote
